The separation of upper incisors is not funny! Although some celebrities have wanted to make it fashionable, the truth is that when the upper incisors separate, the problem of space is transferred to the lateral incisors that do not fit and tend to come out very misaligned, inside or outside the arch.
It is therefore necessary to anticipate the establishment of the problem and make a first treatment (interceptive) to avoid it. And if we don’t, the chances of ending up needing permanent tooth extractions increase.
This patient presents with both, upper central incisor separation (diastema) and right lateral cross-bite. The interceptive treatment corrected both problems and required an additional multibrackets treatment to complete the final result.
