Some patients do NOT have all of their teeth. With orthodontics we can open space to emplace an implant or a crown in the correct place. Other times, on the contrary, orthodontics helps us to close the gap of the missing tooth and not have to put an implant or crown.
This patient did not form his upper right lateral incisor and the canine was displaced, placing it halfway between the first premolar and the central incisor, but it also remained inside !!
With orthodontics, the canine was positioned in its place and space was opened for the implant to be placed in the position of the lateral incisor that she did not have. On the X-ray you can see how the implant is already in place. And the crown that was made over the implant on the right side was better than her own left lateral incisor, whose crown and root were abnormally small.
