We perceive class II when the upper teeth are very far forward. The face many times already expresses the problem, like this patient in whom the upper teeth are so prominent that she puts her lip between the upper and lower teeth and this makes the problem even worse.
If, as in this case, growth is not over, we can modify the development of the upper jaw (slowing it down) and the lower jaw (stimulating it) with extra-oral and/or functional appliances.
In a first treatment (interceptive) we see how this patient wears very few braces and how a functional appliance greatly shortens the distance between the upper and lower teeth.
