This young patient (although it may not seem like it) has very receding gums. It presents what we know as a recessive periodontal disease.
The position of their upper canines, displaced outwards, further aggravates the recession (elevation) of their gums.
The problem is not only aesthetic, but also it is connected with tooth sensitivity and reduces the average life of the tooth in the long term.
Orthodontics improved the position of all teeth (especially the canines) and the treatment was completed with a gum graft.
